New training event for 2018

This training event introduces the key terms in statistics and how they are used in assessment. You'll learn about basic summary statistics, such as the mean, mode, median, range and standard deviation. You'll also look at graphical ways of displaying data, such as frequency distributions, cumulative frequency curves, histograms and boxplots, and will have an opportunity to explore the properties of the normal distribution curve.

I find the Cambridge Assessment Network training events really informative and helpful.

This training event is for people with little or no knowledge of statistics. Delegates from various backgrounds are welcome. (Including teachers, assessors and school management staff as well as assessment professionals – if “little or no knowledge of statistics” applies.)

Key outcomes of the session:

  • Feel confident understanding key statistical terms
  • Know how to use basic statistics to answer questions about assessment data
  • Be able to draw conclusions from statistics and graphs commonly found in assessment contexts
