Following the introduction to Parliament of the National Citizen Service Bill, delegates will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on how this may impact the expansion to all 16 – 17 year olds that want to attend and the likely effect on other youth services.

Further sessions will identify best practice in the teaching of character education; consider whether the necessary resources and time in the school day have been made available to successfully embed it into the curriculum more widely; discuss what is needed from character education to prepare young people for life beyond school; and consider its impact on teaching and teacher training.
