Learn to lead effective and equitable assessment change

Book now

Education, AI and the future of assessment are at the forefront of debate around the world and the need for in-depth understanding of assessment has never been greater.

The COVID pandemic created lasting change, and the rapidly developing pace of technological advances is now raising many questions. Learning how to respond to these macro-forces and other considerations in assessment is at the heart of our Cambridge International Study Programme for 2025.

This five-day programme has been designed to equip you with new techniques, strengthen your understanding of key assessment principles, and give you the opportunity to debate changes in education and policy responses with like-minded professionals.

An excellent course for heads of examination/awarding bodies, policy makers and practitioners. Strongly recommend for colleagues in Pakistan and other countries."

Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Pakistan.

The programme will equip you with all the latest thinking in assessment, provide opportunities for exchange with practitioners from across the world and will enable you to implement changes within your own contexts.

Programme themes

The core programme will be built around five dominant forces in educational assessment, all of which present challenges to senior assessment specialists around the world:

  1. Designing an assessment strategy and framework
  2. Maintaining standards, comparability, and quality
  3. Responding to changes in assessments
  4. Anticipating the future of learning and assessment
  5. System disruption

We will drill down on key practice elements of assessment such as developing an assessment strategy, assessment types, mark scheme design, grading and grade review, computer adaptive testing and IRT. There will also be the opportunity to consider policy influences as well as potential key disruptors in education.

The programme will be supported by the opportunity for networking and discussion, ensuring delegates can relate their learning to their own contexts and leave with implementable actions.

We will be concluding the week with a meal at a Cambridge College. Book your place before the 11 April 2025.

“It was enriching at all levels, attending this course gave me the opportunity to learn from my colleagues. The network we have created is powerful. I returned home knowing that I have to encourage things we have been doing well, but also now I know how we can improve and unlearn those which are not so good."
