Our partner, Cambridge University Press will be welcoming international publishers to Cambridge for the annual two-day International Group of Educational Publishers (IGEP) conference to discuss the theme Disruptive Publishing: Business not as usual.
The IGEP is a forum for the exchange of information on all levels between equal member publishers. The members are outstanding publishers of dictionaries and materials for teaching and learning in Western Europe.
At this year’s conference, Cambridge Assessment’s Group Director of Assessment Research and Development, Tim Oates CBE, will be one of the keynote speakers and he will be discussing how textbook research remains highly active around the world, particularly in reading and mathematics. He will also look at how international comparisons can help us develop quality criteria, for both paper and digital resources in his session on Quality matters in learning materials - but what do we mean by ‘quality’? at 09:15 – 10:15 BST on Thursday, 1 June 2017.
In 2014, Tim carried out work on textbooks and published the report Why Textbooks Counts in which he provided an analysis on what can be done to improve textbooks in England. Further work was subsequently carried out and in April 2016 he launched the Cambridge Approach to Textbooks.
