With Ofsted announcing that the new draft inspection framework (which is to be used from September 2019) is set to place greater emphasis on the school’s curriculum, this event will provide delegates with clarity on what a broad and balanced curriculum may look like. Instead of taking exam results and test data at face value, Ofsted will now look at how results are achieved and if they are the result of broad and rich learning. With this in mind, this conference will help delegates to gain strategies to build and develop a strong programme of learning for their school.
Tim Oates CBE, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development, will be speaking on "Knowledge-based versus skills-based curriculum: understand the advantages and pitfalls of both approaches". From 2010 to 2013, Tim was chair of the Expert Panel for Review of the National Curriculum in England and he routinely provides briefings and advice to the UK and other governments.
More information about the conference including the full agenda and how to register can be found on the Optimus Education website.
