Babcock LDP is hosting an event on South West Curriculum Conference under the theme of the golden thread to securing outstanding outcomes. This follows the recent completion of Ofsted’s ‘Primary and Secondary Curriculum review’ (Phase 1) and it’s announcement to incorporate the curriculum into the new inspection framework for school leaders to implement a culture of curriculum design.
Delegates will have the opportunity to learn how to balance the desire for the children to experience a fun, broad, balanced and meaningful curriculum, with the demands of assessment and high expectations for their personal, social and emotional growth as well as their academic achievement.
Tim Oates CBE, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development, Cambridge Assessment, has been invited to deliver a keynote speech on Curriculum matters. His speech will look at how the latest curriculum theory is growing in sophistication, but this sophistication is a help, not a hindrance to hard-pressed school leaders and teachers. International studies of curriculum design and effective practice have proved valuable in refining the ways in which we think about learners and schooling.
More information about the conference including the programme and how to register can be found on the Babcock LDP website.
