Cambridge Assessment is sponsoring Westminster Education Forum's seminar on Next steps for science education and STEM skills provision. The seminar will provide an opportunity for delegates to talk about science education at secondary level in England.
Timed to follow the completion of the first full year of teaching the reformed GCSE science qualifications, delegates will share latest thinking on the new Key Stage 4 curriculum and assessment patterns rolled out in September 2016. They will also discuss the position of practical science in schools, as well as key issues for the science teaching profession and how to further increase interest in science careers, in light of the December 2016 announcement of a £12.1m investment into science teacher training and Continuing Professional Development.
At this seminar, delegates will hear from OCR's Lead Subject Advisor for science, Neil Wade. He is a panel member for Reformed science GCSEs - assessing the first year of teaching session. His discussion will be based on what lessons can be learnt following the completion of the first full year of teaching the reformed science GCSE and explore the position of practical science in schools.
More information about the seminar including the full agenda and how to register can be found on the Westminster Education Forum website.
