This Inside Government Forum event will provide attendees with an opportunity to evaluate recent government reforms within primary school assessment and attainment. Participants will hear from leading policy experts on how recent changes will impact the way that pupils are assessed, and develop an understanding of how to effectively implement the changes and meet the expected national standard of attainment. In addition, best practice case studies will demonstrate effective methods of driving high levels of attainment and pupil progress, in writing, mathematics and early years’ provision.
Tim Oates, who last year contributed to the UK Parliament’s Education Commons Select Committee in the discussions around changes to primary assessment introduced in England last year will be giving the morning keynote session on ‘Supporting Primary Schools in Pupil Progress and Attainment.’ In this he will be discussing the key reforms outlined in the government response to the 12 week public consultation on the long term future of primary assessments.
