Bringing together the assessment community

Cambridge Assessment Network is delighted to announce the launch of its membership scheme, aimed at bringing together a worldwide network of practitioners looking to enrich their understanding of assessment and prepare for the future of education.

Assessment knowledge is being recognised as ever more important in supporting the growing emphasis on fairness, equality and levelling up, all of which are common stories in the media. This new membership scheme aims to:

  • Provide professional support, share best practice and facilitate discussion among everyone involved in assessment;
  • Create and communicate the positive contributions that an understanding of assessment makes to all forms of learning and education;
  • Recognise assessment expertise through the awarding of Assessment Practitioner and Advanced Assessment Practitioner status by achievement across a set of professional standards.

Members will have access to a wealth of knowledge and resources from experts across Cambridge University Press and Assessment

Tim Oates CBE, Director of Assessment Research and Development, said,

Assessment practitioners share a common goal – to offer fair, accurate and reliable assessment for learners. As we look to the future of assessment, it is crucial to ensure those practicing have the very best quality training and resources to support their development. Cambridge Assessment Network membership offers not only this, but also enables rich discussion and exploration of ideas amongst a global community of assessment professionals.”

Members will receive numerous benefits including

  • 10% discount on all Assessment Network courses
  • Access to professional awards
  • Ask the Experts sessions
  • Member only online community

The awards are supported by Cambridge Assessment Network’s professional learning standards in assessment, which inform each stage of the assessment learning cycle. The standards reflect key competency areas practitioners should be able to understand and embody in their day-to-day practice.

Sally Brown, Assistant Director, Cambridge Assessment Network, added,

Feedback from our global community has continuously asked for a space where like-minded professionals can meet and discuss the everyday issues and challenges they face.  The Assessment Network is keen to nurture, advance and above all value expertise in assessment. We’re delighted to be able to offer this membership scheme and provide an array of benefits to the assessment community.”
