Tim Oates CBE, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development at Cambridge Assessment, presented the Cambridge Approach to Textbooks. The Approach is a set of guiding principles highlighting 'information elements' and design features upon which Cambridge Assessment and its partner publishers should focus when designing high-quality textbook and resource materials. They are a direct response to Tim's identification of the need to restore the primacy of 'real' textbooks worldwide. This publication follows on from the 'Cambridge Approach to Assessment' published in 2009.
