The Assessment Network is delighted to announce that our Advanced Assessment Practitioner Award has been found comparable to RQF Level 6 standard overall by Ecctis. This gives Cambridge learners the opportunity to gain an award which is equivalent in level to a bachelor’s degree (in a UK educational context) by developing and showcasing their assessment knowledge.
Dr Simon Child, Head of Assessment Training at The Assessment Network, is thrilled with the outcome of this in-depth independent benchmarking and evaluation process.
The Advanced Assessment Practitioner Award was designed to promote innovative and informed assessment practices across our assessment community. We are delighted that Ecctis have recognised the in-depth knowledge, understanding, reflective and leadership skills that are developed in AAPA participants.”
Ecctis is one of the world’s leading providers of services in the recognition and evaluation of qualifications and skills industry.
The Advanced Assessment Practitioner Award is awarded to learners who complete 60 hours of professional development through Assessment Network training courses. Participants must also achieve a pass in a written assignment on an assessment innovation of their choosing.
Recent topics, covered by assessment professionals in these assignments have included the development of professional development programmes in assessment for teachers in a school, innovations in non-exam assessments in art and design, and exploration of converting paper-based to online assessments in a school context.
To be eligible for this award you must also be a member of Cambridge’s Assessment Network: a thriving international community of practitioners from across the globe.
Assessment Specialist, Desmond Parke is a member and one of the successful AAPA awardees. He has seen a huge benefit from completing the awards:
My experience of the Advanced Assessment Practitioner Award is that it is a well-designed professional development programme with a good balance between academic rigour while allowing participants space to innovate according to their personal interest. The credibility of the programme is underpinned by the Cambridge brand which is seen favourably by colleagues.”
Ecctis’ decision to find the Advanced Assessment Practitioner Award comparable to an RQF level 6 award further reinforces The Assessment Network’s mission to create a leading learning pathway for assessment professionals.
