A101: Introducing the Principles of Assessment

Completing A101 has helped me to develop a nuanced understanding of all the features of effective assessment. I feel much better prepared to analyse different types of assessment as well as designing assessments of my own.

Gerardo Valazza, Teacher, Uruguay

The Assessment Practitioner Award from Cambridge

It’s very rewarding to receive an award for my work in developing my assessment expertise. The award highlights my dedication to assessment and is an excellent way to showcase and promote my Centre to my audience.

Amanda Jane Lowles, Exam Centre Manager, Italy

A102: Introducing Assessment Practice

A102 provided invaluable insights into the complexities of assessment design. I have a deeper understanding of how to create assessments that are not only rigorous but relevant to real-world contexts.

FAQs

What order do I have to do the programme in?

Due to the Question Writing for Effective Assessment workshop series being run via live sessions, it must be attended on the set live dates in November and December. On signing up to the programme, joining instructions will be provided to the Members Hub and A101. Access to A102 will be provided once A101 is completed.

I may not have time to complete the A101 and A102 on-demand courses before the scheduled dates for the Question Writing for Effective Assessment workshop. Is this a problem?

No. This workshop is designed to work as an individual series and is at a level accessible to those who have yet to study A101 and A102.

What happens if I can’t attend the live sessions for the Question Writing workshop series?

These workshops are run twice a year. If you are unable to attend the first instance of a workshop series, you will then be eligible to attend the next series. You need to attend at least three out of the four sessions to receive your learning hours.

Why is Question Writing the chosen workshop series?

This workshop series focuses on the art of designing effective questions, a key tool for anyone who is managing, authoring, or implementing assessments. It is highly complementary with our A101 and A102 courses, which examine assessment theory and implementation respectively.

Can I choose other courses for this programme?

At present, that is not possible, but it is something we are considering for the future. We are able to provide bespoke training for groups of 10 or more. Get in touch with us at thenetwork@cambridgeassessment.org.uk.

How do I get access to the courses?

Once the programme is purchased, joining instructions will be provided to the Members Hub and A101. Joining instructions to A102 will be provided once A101 is completed. Joining instructions for Question Writing for Effective Assessment will be provided on 13 November.

What certification will I get?

Successful participants will receive certification for all three courses and a certificate for the Assessment Practitioner Award. Individual digital badges are also provided for the completion of A101, A102, and the Assessment Practitioner Award.

Looking for an organisation wide solution?
