Is expert judgement sufficient in setting and maintaining standards? Nat Johnson, a former senior manager in OCR with extensive practical experience of standard setting and maintaining for both general and vocational qualifications, takes a look at a fundamental issue in assessment.
This event will examine the role and purpose of expert judgements and the different methods for capturing them such as Angoff, Bookmark, Awarding, rank-ordering. The speaker will evaluate these approaches and will look at how expert judgement might be used alongside other (statistical) methods.
This training event will be invaluable for anyone interested or involved in standards, standard setting and maintaining. Basic knowledge of statistics will be helpful.
