The International Meeting of the Psychometric Society (IMPS) will be welcoming delegates from over 30 countries to its 82nd Annual Meeting being held in Zurich, Switzerland.

At this conference, delegates will hear a presentation from Cambridge Assessment’s Principal Research Officer, Tom Benton, on his research on Can Artificial Intelligence Learn to Equate? His presentation will explore whether a new method that uses artificial intelligence can accurately award an A that is equivalent between two different tests taken in two different years. Moreover, Tom will also explore ways on how to make use of the data we hold to make sure we’re fair to candidates taking different test versions over time.

For more information about the conference and how to register visit the IMPS website

We have recently published Tom’s work on A possible formula to determine the percentage of candidates who should receive the new GCSE grade 9 in each subject. Visit the Research section of our website to read more.

In October 2015, Tom spoke at Cambridge Assessment’s conference on Gender Difference, where he talked about his work on Attitudes to learning- questioning the PISA data. Visit the Events section of our website to watch his presentation.
